ACTIVE COMPOUNDS
The psychoactive molecular compound in the mushrooms we use is psilocybin or [3-(2-Dimethylaminoethyl)-1H-indol-4-yl] dihydrogen phosphate.
HOW LONG DOES THE EFFECT LAST?
As long as 3-6 hours depending on the the dosage and the sensitivity of the individual. Usually the effects become noticeable after 30-60 minutes and peak around 2 hours. Most people experiences the effects in waves throughout the ceremony.
COMMON EFFECTS
Consumption of psilocybin mushrooms can lead to an entirely different level of sensual perception and often causes hallucinations. You may see colours and patterns, be more sensitive to light and experience everything more intensely. This altered state of consciousness can lead to gaining new insights, movement of suppressed energies and feelings, sense of reunification or oneness, feelings of wonder, creative thinking and mystical experiences amongst others. Some people experience nausea and/or a sensitive stomach.
PRECAUTIONS
Any serotonin enhancing medication is advisable not to be taken with with Psilocybin Mushrooms; this includes the vast majority of antidepressants (SSRI’s, tricyclics, MAOI’s, etc). Before taking part in a Psilocybin Mushroom ceremony, a person must be tapered off these antidepressants entirely with the full support of a psychiatrist or physician. Psilocybin Mushrooms should not be combined with alcohol or recreational substances such as marijuana for at least 24 hours before your ceremony.
